Description
Spray Cottage is a house that was formerly two cottages, dating from the early 18th century and likely altered in the 20th century. The building features rendered rubble walls that may include some cob, and it has a half-hipped thatch roof. There are rendered rubble stacks with brick shafts at each end. Originally, the structure had a two-room plan for each cottage, with the outer room heated; it has since been converted into one cottage with internal partitions removed. The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with four windows, which are 20th-century two-light small-paned casements set in small openings. There are two identical gabled stone porches, probably from the 19th century, located towards each end, each with a plank door. The interior was inaccessible at the time of the survey.
