Description
This is a barn with an attached range of shippons, located approximately 15 metres west of Coombeshead Farmhouse. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of unrendered stone rubble, topped with slate roofs that have gable ends. The building has a T-shaped layout, with the barn built gable end into the bank and a cart entrance positioned towards the right end. The lofted shippon range, which is slightly cranked, extends at right angles from the centre of the barn's front and features seven bays of cambered stone-arched doorways. The lower end of the barn was previously lofted and includes a loft doorway above a doorway that faces into the yard. There is also first-floor rear access to the shippon loft.
