Description
The Old Coach Stables, located 100 metres east of East Down Manor, is a stable block that has been converted into a dwelling. It dates from the 18th century and is constructed of rubble stone with a slate roof. The building features an octagonal cupola topped with a weather vane on a slate-hung base. It is two storeys high and has seven bays.
Above the garage door, there is a central 10-hole pigeon loft. On the left side, there is an early 20th-century outshut that extends at right angles to the main block. The upper level includes four timber sash windows with horns and glazing bars, each with eight panes, positioned above two doorways on either side of a central timber sash window with glazing bars. To the right, there are three timber sash windows with horns and glazing bars above a doorway situated between two sash windows, also with eight panes each. There are stacks located at the rear, and two of the doorways feature lattice fanlights.
