SWIMBRIDGE YEOLAND LANE (south side) SS 63 SW Riverton 8/223 Riverton Farmhouse, including former stables at left end

Farmhouse and stables attached. Probably Cl7 but earlier fabric may be concealed. Altered in C20. Painted rendered stone and cob. Farmhouse has slate roof with gable ends, corrugated iron roof to former stables. Lateral rubble stack to rear of farmhouse with offsets, heightened in brick. 3-room cross-passage plan with extension formerly stables at left end. 2 storeys. 5-window range. C19 2-light casement 3 panes per light at left end of main range, 2 gabled half dormers at right end with sashes with margin glazing bars. Early C19 casement to centre, 2 panes to left side light, 6 panes to right. 4 pigeon holes at left end. Off-centre doorway with C20 door enclosed in C20 lean-to extension. Former stables has doorway with cambered brick arch at left end and 2-light casement. 3 panes per light inserted in blocked doorway to right of C17 2-light timber window with chamfered surround, the mullion replaced. Interior not inspected.
