Description

The churchyard cross, located approximately 35 metres south of the south porch of Heanton Punchardon Parish Church, is possibly of Celtic origin. Made of granite, the cross stands about 1.5 metres tall and features a damaged, virtually oval-shaped head. The head is carved in the shape of a narrow Greek cross, which tilts to the left. It is believed that this cross was once used as a gatepost and was brought from Cornwall in 1903, forming a pair with another churchyard cross.
