Description

This former linhay and stable, located approximately 35 metres northeast of West Molland Barton, is likely from the 18th century and has undergone some alterations in the late 20th century. The structure is built of coursed stone rubble with a cob over a rubble plinth at the rear. The loft openings have been filled with concrete blockwork, and the gable end features weatherboarding from the 20th century. The roof is gable-ended and covered with Welsh slate.

The building faces a farmyard to the south and backs onto a lane to the north. It originally had a two-bay linhay on the left and a small stable with a loft on the right. The late 20th-century changes include the enclosure of the loft and the conversion of the ground floor into stabling and loose boxes. The building is one storey with a loft.

On the exterior, the stable on the right has a central doorway flanked by windows. There is a 20th-century loft doorway in the third bay of the linhay on the left. The ground floor has been converted into stables with a boarded door and a small-paned window. The right-hand bay is open with a gate, while the three left-hand bays are open with 20th-century steel doors. There are also two boarded loft doors at the rear. Inside the former linhay, there are large chamfered cross beams alongside 20th-century joists.
