Description

Fleming Headstone, located approximately 5 metres south of the east end of the Church of St Peter, dates from 1680. This headstone is made of slate and features a straight-headed design with an incised nowy arch. To the left, there is a skull, and to the right, an hourglass. The inscription reads: "Here Lyeth the Body/of Edward the Sonn of/George Fleming of this/Parish who departed this/Life ye 22nd day of February/Anno Dom. 1680/aged 14 months."
