Description

Fullingcott Farmhouse is a farmhouse with origins in the 17th century and alterations from the 18th century. It is constructed of rendered stone and cob, topped with an asbestos slate roof that is hipped at the right end and canted at the left end. The building features two rendered ridge stacks.

The farmhouse has an unusual layout, with two principal rooms on the ground floor, both heated by an axial stack located to the right. A staircase at the lower end of the left-hand room leads to a mezzanine floor, which has a canted end above a low collar. There is a right-angled two-storey wing at the rear right end, creating an overall L-shaped plan. The structure is two storeys high and has a three-window range.

On the left side, there is an eight-paned window next to two three-light casements, each with six panes per light above. To the right, there are two horizontal sliding sash windows with four panes per light, adjacent to a brick panel topped with a slated gabled roof and a plank door. Above, there is a three-over-six paned sash window above a twelve-pane sash window at the canted end.

Inside, several two- and four-panelled doors remain, along with a cupboard or stairway featuring butterfly hinges. The interior also includes five 18th-century trusses with threaded purlins.
