Description
Upexe Farmhouse is a farmhouse with a core dating back to the 17th century, featuring later alterations. It is constructed from a mix of cob and stone, rendered and topped with a slate roof that is hipped to the right and gabled to the left. The original layout was a three-room, cross-passage plan, and the building stands two storeys high. The front facade has a six-window range, with all windows consisting of three lights; the upper windows have two panes per casement, while the lower ones have three panes per casement. There is a porch to the right of the center, covered by a slated lean-to roof supported by timber uprights. The farmhouse has external end stacks with brick shafts. At the rear, there is a 19th-century brick and stone outbuilding that partially incorporates an earlier outshut beneath a catslide roof. A large all-stone rear lateral stack, which was formerly external, now emerges from the catslide roof, along with another later internal stack that has a brick shaft. The interior has not been inspected.
