Description
The kitchen garden walls, located approximately 50 metres to the south-west of West Molland Barton, are likely from the early to mid-18th century. They are constructed from roughly squared and coursed stone, featuring dressed quoins. The walls form a roughly square enclosure on a south-facing slope, with a battered rear wall that serves as a retaining wall for the field behind. Two lengths of wall extend from the north-west and north-east corners, with the north-east section attached to Deer View Cottage. At the time of the survey in August 1987, some sections of the wall were partially collapsed. There is a pair of large boarded doors in the north-west corner and a small 20th-century boarded door in the north-east corner, which has a segmental-arched head. Additionally, there is a blocked gateway to the west, indicated by straight joints.
