Description
No. 110 Boutport Street is a building that dates back to the 1820s and is currently used as a surgery, owned by the Barnstaple Bridge Trust. The structure is plastered with a slate roof that has gabled ends and features stacks with brick shafts topped with old pots. It has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with a five-bay front.
The building showcases a moulded eaves cornice and eaves board, along with a platband at the first-floor level. The three left-hand bays are symmetrical, featuring a central doorway with a six-panel door and a plain overlight. The ground-floor windows are 16-pane sashes, while the first-floor windows are 8 over 12-pane, and the second-floor windows are also 16-pane sashes.
On the right-hand side, the left bay has blind recesses and a blocked doorway on the ground floor. The right bay has windows similar to the others, except the ground-floor window has been reglazed as a one over one-pane sash. The interior has not been inspected but may still contain interesting features.
