Description
Nos. 14 and 14A on Silver Street in Braunton is a house and cottage that dates from the late 17th century. The building is constructed of whitewashed rendered rubble and features a slate roof that is hipped at the street end and gabled at the upper end. It has an axial rubble stack and an off-centre rear stack that has been heightened in brick and rubble at the gable end. The layout is single depth and the building stands two storeys tall. It has a five-window range with 2-light casements from the 19th or 20th century. There are two and a half glazed and panelled doors, with the left door featuring a slated canopy. Inside, there is a chamfered beam with run-out stops at the lower end.
