MESHAW MESHAW SS 71 NE 4/41 Former forge now garage on - roadside immediately north of cottage to north of Quince Cottage

Forge, now garage. C18. Cob and rubble walls, rendered and colourwashed, hipped reed-thatched roof. Plan: square on plan with direct entry to right side into single large working area, further room at rear in gabled addition with former forge hearth. Exterior: 4-pane casement with lapped panes to roadside; door opening on right return, paired plank doors with iron strap hinges. Interior: virtually featureless with pegged collar-beam roof of very light construction. Room at rear with fireplace with brick dressings, probably for the former forge hearth. Group value with Quince Cottage and attached cottage.
