Description
Munson Farmhouse is a farmhouse that is probably from the early 17th century. It has an L-shaped plan and is constructed of rubble and cob, topped with a hipped thatched roof and featuring brick and rubble stacks, including one lateral stack. The building is two storeys high and has casement windows, some of which have leaded lights. The front of the house has three windows. Inside, there are exposed ceiling beams and moulded plaster cornices. The staircase dates from the 17th century, with a later staircase added in a similar style. The hall contains some original panelling, and there are numerous original doors upstairs. The bases of the roof principals are visible in the bedrooms. The exterior has been re-rendered with patterned rendering, and the windows observed during a survey in 1987 were from the late 20th century. It is possible that the house is older than the early 17th century, and the roof structure may be of particular interest.
