Description
No. 26 Pilton Street is a house that appears to date from the early to mid-19th century, but it is likely from the 17th century and may have originally been part of a larger house. The front is solidly rendered, and it has a slated roof. The building is two storeys high and features a two-window range. There is a doorway on the right with a half-glazed late 20th-century door. To the left of the doorway, there is a three-light wood casement window with six panes per light, although the top two panes in the outer lights have been replaced by a transom-light. On the upper storey, there is a blind window to the right and a two-light wood casement window to the left with eight panes per light. The interior has not been inspected, but it is known to have an old ceiling beam on the ground floor. The floor level is well below the pavement outside, which typically indicates an early date.
