Description
This building is a linhay, dating from the early to mid 19th century, located approximately 20 meters east of Eastacombe Farmhouse. The front and right side are constructed of rubble, while the left side is made of cob. It features a corrugated iron roof with a continuous outshut at the rear, which is also built of rubble. The structure serves as a cattle shelter below, with a tallet (hayloft) above.
There are three brick square piers with flanking walls that extend further on the right side than on the left. A continuous manger runs along the rear wall, and the tallet floor remains in place, although three tiers of upper front retaining rails have been removed, leaving only the top rail in the left section. External stone steps at the right gable end lead to a tallet doorway, which is topped with a flat brick arch. The rear outshut has a continuous manger along the wall and features two wide entrances with timber lintels, as well as a ventilation slit at the end. This linhay is included for its group value with Eastacombe Farmhouse.
