Description

Two headstones, located approximately 9 metres south-east of the south-east corner of the chancel of the Church of St. Peter ad Vincula, date from the early 19th century. They are made of slate and have straight heads. One headstone is inscribed to William Gubb, a mariner who died in 1838, and includes urns flanking an angel figure blowing a trumpet at the top. The other headstone commemorates John Greek, who died in 1840, featuring a representation of a hand holding a knife next to a felled tree, also flanked by urns at the top.
