Description
Ham Cottage is a pair of cottages that have been converted into one house, dating from the 18th century and remodelled in 1948. The exterior features painted roughcast over rendered stone rubble and cob, topped with a thatch roof that is half-hipped at the left end. There is a brick stack on the right gable end. Originally designed with a two-room plan, a two-storey bay that includes a garage was added to the left end in the mid-20th century. The building stands two storeys high and has a three-window range. The windows are modern two and three-light casements on both the front and rear, with one window at the rear replacing a former doorway. A porch was added to the original entry at the rear around 1982.
Inside, the interior was remodelled in the mid-20th century. The roof retains its original riven rafters and consists of six bays with pegged collar trusses, each featuring halved and pegged apexes.
