Description

The Bawden headstone with accompanying footstone is located approximately 3 metres north of the north porch of the Church of St. Peter ad Vincula in Combe Martin. This headstone dates from the late 18th century and is made of slate with a nowy-arched shape. The headstone features a cherub's head above the inscription dedicated to Elizabeth Bawden, who died in 1767. The footstone displays an hourglass flanked by cross-bones above a verse.
