Description
Blakewell Mill is a corn mill, which was formerly a paper mill, dating from the mid 19th century. It is constructed of shale rubble and has a slate roof with gable ends. The building stands three storeys high and features five bays. There are small window openings with slightly arched brick heads. Access to the ground floor is via a wide central door made of two boarded leaves, with a loading door above that is also made of two boarded leaves. To the left side of the ground floor, there is a blocked window frame, while the right side has a window with six panes per casement. A water wheel was formerly located at the right-hand end of the mill but has since been removed.
