Description

The Rock is a small house located on Pilton Street in Barnstaple, likely built in the early 1820s. It features roughcast mass wall construction and a slate roof that is gabled at both ends, with end stacks that have brick shafts. The house has a double-depth plan, consisting of two rooms wide with a central entrance. It stands two storeys tall and has a symmetrical three-window arrangement. There is an eaves board, a central recessed half-glazed door, and two ground-floor and three first-floor 16-pane sash windows. The interior has not been inspected but may still have interesting features.
