Description

Lower Creedy Bridge is a road bridge over the River Creedy, likely built in the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed from volcanic rubble with volcanic ashlar dressings and features granite ashlar coping. The bridge has a single span with a plain segmental arch made of volcanic ashlar voussoirs that rise from low, flat-topped abutments, which project diagonally from the bank on either side. The walls extend up to the parapet, which is topped with weathered granite coping that may have been reused, as it includes settings for iron railings. The parapet slopes upwards towards the center, following the road's line.
