Description

The Rattenbury headstone, located approximately 20 meters south of the nave of the Church of St Andrew, dates from around 1779 and commemorates Simon Rattenbury. Made of slate, this roughly round-headed upright slab stands about 1.2 meters high. It features neat Roman serif upper and lower case letters, which record the burial of Simon Rattenbury, who died in 1779.
