Description
This is a woodshed located approximately 3 metres south-east of Ford Farmhouse, dating from the 17th century and altered in the late 19th to early 20th century. The structure is built of plastered stone and rubble, with corrugated iron covering the original thatch roof. It is a small single-cell building that faces the farmhouse to the north-west, featuring a gable end, a doorway at the right end of the front, and a window in the right end wall. Inside, there is one side-pegged jointed cruck truss that appears to be in its original position, suggesting it has not been moved from elsewhere. The rest of the roof dates from the late 19th to early 20th century. This woodshed is a very rare example of a small ancillary farm building with part of its 17th-century roof still intact.
