Description
The Fellowes Chest Tomb, located approximately 11 metres east of the aisle of the Church of All Saints, is a Grade II listed structure dated 1788 in memory of Mary Fellowes. It is made of Portland stone and features a grey basalt lid along with white marble plaques. The tomb has a rectangular shape with a flat lid that has moulded edges and a moulded base. Its sides are panelled, and the corners at each end are recessed, containing fluted pilasters with gadrooned bases and moulded caps. On the west end, there is an oval inscribed marble plaque commemorating the death of S Coulson Fellowes in 1769. The tomb is enclosed by a low Portland stone wall, which originally included iron area railings that have since been removed.
