Description
Sexton's House, currently used as a gardener's store, is located approximately 5 metres east of the Church of St Swithin. It dates from around 1800 and is constructed from volcanic rubble with a slate roof. The adjoining cob boundary wall has tile capping on rubble footings and features a pitched roof made of pantiles and corrugated asbestos. The house consists of a single room, gabled at both ends, with a stack located in the south gable. On the west side, there is an arched door to the left and a 2-light arched window with original glass, iron-casement, and leading to the right. An identical window is found in the north gable. The cob wall at the sound end forms the eastern boundary of the churchyard.
