Description

A house, dating from the 1840s, now partly used as an office and restaurant. The house is built of mass wall construction, with a stuccoed exterior. A chimney stack is positioned on the left end, with a rendered shaft. The roof is hidden behind a parapet.

The layout is of a single room width, double-depth, leading to a passage with a staircase at the rear.

Externally, the house has three storeys and an asymmetrical three-bay front. A deep, projecting moulded cornice runs below the parapet. The ground floor has channelled rustication, while a moulded string runs along the first-floor sill level. A doorway on the right-hand side of the ground floor features a shallow pilastered doorcase with a cornice, containing a recessed four-panel front door with an overlight and glazed two-pane side lights. All windows have moulded architraves and are fitted with hornless four-pane sashes. The ground-floor windows have cornices, the first-floor windows have cornices supported by consoles, and the second-floor windows have sill brackets. Basement windows are glazed with twelve-pane sashes. A four-panel basement door is located below the front door. The front elevation contains two round-headed stair windows, a parapet, and small-pane sashes. A verandah with cast-iron lattice panels supporting a lean-to slate roof is also present. Ground-floor windows have moulded architraves.

The interior has not been inspected.

To the left of the front door are area steps and a railing, with bud and leaf-shaped finials on the vertical bars.
