Description
This linhay, located approximately 30 metres southeast of Higher Furzeland Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th to 18th century. It is constructed of cob on rubble footings and features a corrugated iron roof, which was originally thatch. The linhay is open-fronted with three bays facing north. The rear walls and roof extend back to create a shallow linhay at the rear, separated from the front by a cob wall. It is classified as Alcock's Type T1 linhay, with the left post on the north side being circular and made of cob on rubble footings, topped with a wooden plate. The posts on the south side stand on stone plinths, and the hayloft crossbeams are secured with tusk tenons. The roof consists of A-frames with pegged lap-jointed collars.
