Description

Daviesland Farmhouse is a small farmhouse dating from the late 17th to early 18th century. It is constructed with plastered cob on rubble footings, with cob stacks topped with 20th-century brick and a thatched roof. The original plan comprised two rooms with a roughly central cross passage and a winder stair to the rear. Gable-end stacks are present. A continuous outshot runs along the rear of the house. The front facade has a balanced arrangement of three windows. Most of the windows are 19th-century casements with glazing bars. A central door provides access. One window on the upper floor is an earlier example, dating from the late 17th to early 18th century, and features a 3-light oak chamfered-mullion design. The interior reveals plain carpentry details.
