Description
Lower Furzeland Farmhouse is a farmhouse and adjoining store dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of plastered cob on rubble footings, with rubble stacks topped with 19th-century brick and a thatched roof. The building is L-shaped, with the main block facing south, which includes an entrance lobby and a room with stores to the right. There is a rear block located behind the left (west) end. The main block features a gable-end stack to the left and an end stack to the rear block. The farmhouse has two storeys and a balanced three-window front with late 19th-century and 20th-century casements. The main door is located at the left end, featuring a 20th-century hood, while the store entrance is at the right end behind a late 19th-century pantile-roofed shelter. There is an unglazed window above the store entry, and a large stack projecting from the left gable includes an oven projection. Inside, the carpentry detail is plain.
