Description

This headstone, located approximately 10 meters south of the tower of the Church of St Andrew, dates from around 1686 and commemorates Philip Petrock. Made of purple mudstone, the headstone is a roughly round-headed upright slab that stands about 0.5 meters high. It features an inscription in neat bold capitals, which records the burial of Philip Petrock, who died in 1686, and includes the phonetic dialect spelling of "died" as "deyed."
