Description
Forde is a house that was formerly two cottages, likely built in the 18th century. It features plastered cob on rubble footings and has cob or rubble stacks topped with 19th-century brick, all under a thatched roof. The building is two storeys high and has a four-window front, with late 19th to early 20th-century casements that include glazing bars. The door is positioned to the right of the centre, behind a 20th-century thatched porch with a gable roof, which contains a reset 19th-century door with Gothick hinges. There is a window to the left of the centre that blocks a former doorway. On the left end, there is a small outshot with a late 19th-century window featuring leaded panes of shaped glass. The interior has plain carpentry details.
