Description
Westwood Cottage is a cottage and adjoining store, likely built in the mid 19th century. The structure features plastered cob on rubble footings, with rubble stacks topped with brick and a thatched roof. It has a small two-room plan, facing east, with the store attached to the right (north) end. The cottage is two storeys high and has a three-window front that includes late 19th to early 20th century and mid 20th century casements, the latter lacking glazing bars. There is a four-panel door with a 19th century gabled hood, covered with slate and supported by shaped brackets, located between the centre and left windows of the main house. To the right, there is a door leading to the store. The roof is gabled on the left side and half-hipped on the right. Inside, the carpentry detail is plain, and the store is part-floored.
