Description

Lower Week is a house, formerly a farmhouse, likely built in the 18th century, with an early or mid-19th century summerhouse and 20th century additions. The structure is made of plastered cob and stone rubble, with one chimney stack of exposed stone rubble and another that is plastered, both topped with 20th century brick. The roof is thatched, with slate and felt used for the 20th century extensions.

The house has a two-room layout facing southeast, with each room featuring a projecting end stack. There is a 20th century service extension on the right (northeast) end and a two-storey kitchen extension at the back of the left room. The attached summerhouse, dating from the 19th century, is located at the left front corner.

The main house has an irregular front with three windows, featuring 19th century three-light casements with glazing bars on the first floor and 20th century two-light casements without glazing bars on the ground floor, along with a fourth similar window on the right service extension. The front door is from the 20th century but includes a panel of small panes of coloured Victorian leaded glass and is sheltered by a 20th century gabled porch with a slate roof. The main roof is gable-ended. To the left of the front, the small cob and rubble summerhouse has a conical roof and a full-height doorway at the front. The interior was not available for inspection at the time of the survey.
