Description

This is a wayside milestone located approximately 0.5 metres south of the east end of the north parapet wall of Calves Bridge in Morchard Bishop. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of granite. The milestone is a round-headed upright stone slab, which is inscribed in demi-bold Roman serif letters stating "XVI Miles From Exon".
