Description
The Red Lion Public House is an early 19th-century establishment. It features a colourwashed and rendered exterior with a slate roof that is gabled at both ends, and has end stacks. The left side of the building is slate-hung. The layout is symmetrical, with a central entrance leading into a passage and principal rooms located to the left and right. The building stands two storeys high and has a three-bay front with deep eaves. The central front door is framed by an early 19th-century doorcase that has a cornice supported by moulded brackets. The windows consist of early 19th-century timber 16-pane sashes. Inside, the fireplace in the right-hand room boasts a massive re-used late 16th-century timber lintel.
