Description
Weavers and Snowdrop Cottages are two adjoining cottages built in the late 17th to early 18th century. They are constructed from plastered cob on rubble footings, with rubble stacks topped by 19th and 20th-century brick. The cottages face south, with Weavers Cottage on the left (west) featuring a two-room plan and a projecting end stack. Snowdrop Cottage on the right (east) has a one-room plan, a rear corner stack, and a rear service outshot. Both cottages are two storeys high and have a total of five windows across their late 19th-century casement fronts, which include glazing bars. Weavers Cottage has a central door in a symmetrical three-window front, while Snowdrop Cottage has its door at the right end. The roof of Weavers Cottage is gable-ended to the left, and half-hipped to the right. The interiors have been largely modernised in the 19th century, but some original features may still be concealed. A large chamfered crossbeam from the late 17th to early 18th century is exposed in Weavers Cottage. The roof has not been inspected.
