Description

A row of cottages dating from the early 19th century, located on Newcourt Road. The cottages are built of cob with stone footings, and are plastered and roughcast. They have gabled-end slate roofs with deeply overhanging eaves. Five axial stacks feature brick shafts.

The front facades are similar, though No. 19 lacks a front doorway. Most cottages have 19th-century window frames. Nos. 3, 5 and 9 have sixteen-pane hornless sash windows to both floors, one to the ground floor and two to the first, with No. 5 being two former cottages combined. Nos. 11, 15, 17 and 19 have two-light casement windows with six panes to each light on both floors. Front doorways to Nos. 1-11 are recessed, some with planked reveals. The cottages are listed for their contribution to the townscape of Silverton village.
