Description
This inscribed stone, located approximately 10 metres south of the transept of the Church of St Andrew, is likely from the late 18th century. Made of granite, the upright slab stands about 1.5 metres high and is positioned on the east side of a cobbled path that leads from the south gate of the churchyard to the church. The stone features a slightly recessed front panel inscribed with Roman serif upper and lower case letters, displaying a quote from the psalm: "Though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of Death I will fear no evil." Above this panel, which is not centered, is the inscription "Sepulchre" in Gothic lettering, suggesting that it may have been a reused gravestone.
