Description

Three houses forming part of a long row, with a late 17th-century core significantly remodelled in the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of cob with a stone plinth, and are plastered, all under a single slate roof. There is one axial chimney stack and another that breaks the front roof slope. The front has a four-window range with three doorways. The doorways to numbers 26 and 28 are sheltered by porches with canopies supported on shaped brackets, while number 24 has a wagon entrance. Number 24 has two-light horn sash windows, number 24 has two-light hornless sash windows, and numbers 26 and 28 have 20th-century metal casement windows. Skylights have been added to number 26. The interior of number 24 features chamfered, unstopped cross beam, while the roof of number 28 is of the 18th century with sawn timbers, halved and pegged. At the rear of number 26 is a 19th-century two-storey outbuilding, constructed of cob and rendered, with a gabled-end slate roof. The outbuilding retains a badly damaged two-light window with some leaded panes. Numbers 24, 26 and 28 are included for group value.
