Description

The cross-shaft and base, located approximately 25 metres east of Court Barton Farmhouse, is a late medieval wayside cross. It was moved from a road junction in the 20th century and reset in the wall of Court Barton Farm. Made of granite, this is a Type C cross featuring a plain shaft with chamfered corners, standing about 2 metres high. The shaft is set in a large socket stone base that is square in section and has broached shoulders.
