Description
79 Queen Street is an early 19th-century building that appears older than the other structures on Queen Street. It is a well-preserved late Georgian three-storey red brick block with a rounded corner facing Upper Paul Street. The building features a patent stone cornice and quoins. The ground floor has a modern pilastered treatment that is appropriate for the style, and the façade consists of four bays. Above, there are three sash windows with glazing bars. The roof is not visible. The Upper Paul Street side includes a late 19th-century three-bay section designed in the Venetian Gothic style. This building, along with Nos 74 to 91 and the Queen's Hotel, forms a cohesive group.
