Description

The lodge detached from Digby Hospital was built between 1882 and 1886 by architect R Stark Williamson. It is constructed of red brick with a stone slate roof and terracotta dressings. The building is two storeys high and has an 'L' shape in plan. It features two gables at right angles, each with one casement window on the ground floor and one on the first floor, both having upper glazing bars. The gables are designed in a Dutch style with terracotta copings, which may have been supplied by Doulton & Co of Lambeth. An outshut roofed wing fills the angle of the 'L', featuring a circular window at the eaves and a flat roof dormer at the junction of the roofs.
