Description

This is a circa 1820-30 stucco terrace of three-storey, two-window houses located on Fore Street. The buildings have wide eaves supported by brackets. The ground floor windows are French casements. Numbers 1, 2, and 3 are linked by single-storey porches, while numbers 3 and 4 are semi-detached. Number 1 features an Ionic porch, numbers 2 and 3 have good Greek Doric doorways with large semi-circular fanlights, and number 4 has an altered verandah. The verandah at number 3 remains but is in poor repair. Numbers 1 and 2 have recently had verandahs removed. Some windows retain glazing bars. The doors are six-panel doors. The buildings are topped with hipped slate roofs. Numbers 35 to 41 (the odd numbers) form a group valued for their collective architectural impact.
