SX 9392 CHURCH STREET 871/13/10132 HEAVITREE 19-FEB-01 (East side) 5 II

House with shop at ground floor level. Early C19. Mass wall construction, unpainted, stuccoed and blocked out; slate roof; rendered chimney shafts with tapering round terracotta chimneypots and cast iron rainwater goods. Plan: Double depth plan, one-room wide. Rooms heated by chimneystack to left end. Exterior: 3 storeys. Deep boxed eaves with paired eaves brackets. Regular 2-window front. C20 projecting shop front with moulded cornice and fascia. Shop windows with glazing bars are canted into a central C20 half-glazed shop door. 2-leaf door with fielded panels to the right, leading to accommodation above; 12-pane hornless boxed sash windows at first and second floor levels. INTERIOR: Original stair and marble chimneypiece at first floor. Extra Information: Owner reports that shop front is a late C20 copy of the original which was destroyed by fire. Also reports that he uncovered 2 brick ovens below ground floor level at rear - these are now beneath shed/workshop.
