Description
Jasmine Cottage is a small cottage, likely built in the 18th century, and renovated around 1950. It features plastered cob construction, possibly with stone footings, and has a stone rubble stack topped with 20th-century brick. The cottage has a thatched roof and a three-room layout facing east. The kitchen, located in the right end room, is a 1950 extension. The original structure included a small unheated service room, which now serves as the central entrance hall, and a living room with a gable-end stack on the left. The cottage is two storeys high and has 20th-century service outshots at the rear. The exterior is nearly symmetrical with a three-window front, featuring 20th-century casements with glazing bars. The central doorway has a 20th-century door behind a contemporary porch. The roof is gable-ended on the left and hipped on the right. The interior reflects the 1950 modernization, with no exposed carpentry details, and the roof was not inspected. Jasmine Cottage is part of a charming group of thatch-roofed cottages at Knowle Cross.
