Description
The courtyard of farm buildings adjoining the west of Harris's Farmhouse has late 17th century origins but was largely rebuilt in the 19th century. The structure features plastered cob on stone rubble footings and is rebuilt in red brick with a slate roof. The three ranges of buildings face into the courtyard, although no interior inspection was possible during the survey. The visible rear wall of the southern range suggests it contains a couple of byres or stables, with two doors flanking a pair of windows and a single first-floor window that may have once served as a hayloft loading hatch. At the right end, the roof extends over a full-height carriageway that connects the farm buildings to the farmhouse. The roof is hipped to the left as it returns to the west range. These farm buildings are part of a notable group of listed buildings near the Church of St James.
