Description
The range of farm buildings located immediately to the south-south-west of Ivington Farmhouse is a Grade II listed structure. This range includes a cider house and general storage with a cartway through, serving as the entrance to a planned farmstead. Built in 1846 by the Garretts of Bishops Court as the Home Farm, the buildings are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and feature a hipped slate roof with lead rolls.
The range is situated on the south-east side of the farmstead and has only two later inserted windows or openings on the outer wall, aside from the large wagon entrance on the extreme left-hand side (south), which is covered by a continuous roof that connects to the bank barn. The big double doors at this entrance are contemporary to the building. The inner elevation has three first floor two-light windows, some with stanchions, and two openings for hay and apple loft access. Below, there are three openings and two doors. This range is part of a very well-preserved and complete planned farmstead from the 1840s.
