Description
The Manor House, dating from the 18th century with later additions that include earlier work, is part of the College. Many of the original features have been lost. It was once home to a large dining hall, and the old doorway from this hall still remains. The west portion of the building is two stories high, constructed of brick, with three first-floor sash windows featuring glazing bars. It has a parapet on a slate roof with a cornice. The ground floor has bays designed in a similar style. The south elevation has two gabled projections near the center, both topped with finials; one of these is older and larger, featuring multi-light stone mullion casements with cinquefoil heads, and the walls are made of grey stone. The eastern additions are mainly from the 19th century and are faced with snecked rubble. The old doorway, which was once part of the monastic buildings, faces north near the east end. The garden walls to the east and south are made of stone, standing 12 feet and 8 feet high respectively, with the southern wall featuring a pointed doorway leading to the churchyard.
