Description

Nos. 6 and 8 Pater Noster Row are a pair of 18th-century buildings forming part of an important group of listed buildings opposite St Mary's Church. They are built of red brick with a slate roof. No. 6 is a two-storey building with three near-flush frame sash windows on the first floor, featuring glazing bars, and two at ground floor. It has a central entrance with a six-panel door featuring fielded panels, approached by a Doric porch with a dentil entablature. The front of No. 6 is rendered and limewashed. No. 8, known as The Cottage, is a two-storey building with one window. It also has a rendered and limewashed front and near-flush frame sash windows on each floor. The left-hand entrance has a six-panel door with fielded upper panels, a solid frame, and a flat head with a keystone.
